Uprights and base plates
Height, base width and the number of stations — that is what separates these three frames. A free-standing squat stand with a pull-up bar, a nine-station cage with cable crossover, and a Smith machine that runs a guided bar and dual pulleys on the same rails.
A rack does not need bolts if its base is wide enough and its plates are heavy enough. Check ceiling height before anything else: the uprights run to 83 inches and you want room above that to hang from the bar.

The long answer
A rack is the most permanent object in a home gym. The questions worth asking about one are structural, and they are answered in millimetres and inches.
1.8 to 2 mm wall thickness sets the rigidity of these frames, and the welds are doubled at the twelve points where cages fail first: corners, cross members and pulley mounts. Then geometry does the rest. A 54.7 by 43.7 inch base with six reinforcement plates keeps the loaded centre of mass inside the footprint, which is why nothing here needs an anchor bolt.
Every rack that goes back does so for one of the same four reasons.
J-hooks and safety arms cover the barbell; a pull-up bar and dip handles cover bodyweight; a dual-pulley crossover covers everything a second machine would have done. The nine-station cage arrives with the attachments in the box — lat bar, low row, tricep rope, T-bar — which is the difference between a rack and a shopping list.
Straight answers
Not these. The base plates and the stance width hold them. Put a mat underneath on carpet so the feet cannot sink unevenly.
Allow for the 83-inch frame plus your reach on a pull-up — about 8 feet of clear height is comfortable for most people.
On the power cage, yes — 15 or more accessories ship with it, including the lat bar, tricep rope and low row bar.
Chalk notes
Two benches can both say 800 lb and mean different things. Here is how to read the number, and which one to compare when you are choosing.
Read the noteFour measurements decide whether a rack fits, and only one of them is the rack's own height. Take them before the delivery, not after.
